Each fund opens its own application periods and defines the value according to your membership category and income, almost always measured in minimum wages (SMMLV). That's why comparing the amounts<\/strong> Compensar, Colsubsidio, Comfama, Cafam, and Comfenalco don't provide a single figure, but rather a range and a set of rules. Here we've organized them so you know where you stand and what to check before applying.<\/p>\n

This guide is for informational purposes only: the subsidy is provided by your savings and loan association, not by us.<\/p>\n

What is the housing subsidy from the savings banks and what does the amount depend on?<\/h2>\n

The family housing compensation funds provide the Family Housing Subsidy (SFV), a non-repayable grant that is added to your savings for buying, building, or improving a home. It is different from the national subsidy (Mi Casa Ya), although they are sometimes combined.<\/p>\n

The amount depends on three things: your membership category<\/strong> (A, B, or C, which depends on your income), the type of housing (VIS or VIP), and the open call for applications at that time. A family in category A, which earns less, receives more support than one in category B. That's why two members of the same fund can receive different amounts in the same year.<\/p>\n

We don't publish a fixed amount per box because it changes with each call for applications and with the annual minimum wage. What we can do is show you where each box operates and who prioritizes it, so you know which one is right for you and where to request the exact amount.<\/p>\n

For reference, the Family Housing Subsidy for Social Interest Housing (VIS) has historically reached around 30 times the monthly minimum wage (SMMLV) in lower-income cases, but the amount of your application may be lower.
