Every time word gets around the neighborhood that "a government payment has arrived," the question we get asked most often at Hepacom is the same: Will I receive it or not? With the Citizen's Income program, which replaced Families in Action and Solidarity Income, the answer depends on a piece of information that many families don't even know they have: their Sisb\u00e9n group. That's why it's important to understand this once and for all. Which Sisb\u00e9n groups receive Citizen Income<\/strong>. In short: it is received mainly by households in group A (extreme poverty) and group B (moderate poverty) of the Sisb\u00e9n IV; group C, as a rule, is left out.<\/p>\n

Which Sisb\u00e9n groups receive Citizen Income?<\/h2>\n

The Citizen's Income program is aimed at households in extreme poverty, poverty, and vulnerability, and therefore focuses on groups A and B of the Sisb\u00e9n IV (the Colombian social welfare system). Group A\u2014those with the lowest income-generating capacity\u2014covers the majority of the program's components; group B, corresponding to moderate poverty, is included in the component that seeks to strengthen capabilities. Beyond these groups (C and D), except in very specific situations, the program no longer applies.<\/p>\n

In other words: it's not enough to simply "be registered in the Sisb\u00e9n system"; what matters is your letter and number classification. Which Citizen's Income line corresponds to each group?<\/h2>\n

Citizen's Income is not a single, equal payment for everyone: it is divided into four lines of intervention, each targeting a specific group within the Sisb\u00e9n system and a different situation. This table summarizes who is targeted by each line.<\/p>\n

As you can see, Group A focuses on the two largest areas (care and hunger), and Group B has its own dedicated area for Capacity Building. The emergency area is the exception: it doesn't consider the group, but rather the urgency.<\/p>\n
