  3. Credit history check<\/strong> of the applicant and the joint debtor. The result arrives by mail with a reference number.<\/li>\n
  4. Document upload<\/strong> on the documentary platform, within the deadline.<\/li>\n
  5. Verification<\/strong> from ICETEX. Only with verified documents does the loan proceed to evaluation.<\/li>\n
  6. Committee and publication of results.<\/strong><\/li>\n
  7. Legalization and signing of guarantees.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    When does the 2026-2 undergraduate application period close?<\/h2>\n

    For the most common undergraduate track, the You Choose 30%, the application form for the 2026-2 call closes on Friday, August 28, 2026<\/strong>. After that date, the application is not accepted. And ICETEX reiterates a warning in its calendar: access is subject to resource availability, so The form may close before the stipulated date.<\/strong>. The entity also announced that the semester will close on Thursday, October 15, 2026, and the process will move on to the 2027 call for applications.<\/p>\n

    Why doesn't registration mean the loan is approved?<\/h2>\n

    Because ICETEX states it explicitly. The undergraduate calendar of July 30, 2026, clarifies that Registration is an initial stage of the process, but it does not guarantee obtaining the loan.<\/em>, and that the platform It does not perform automatic approval.<\/em>. Completing all the stages does not mean that the loan has been acquired.<\/p>\n

    Here is the error that is causing the most applications to be cancelled, verbatim from the ICETEX notice: the email and telephone number of the co-debtor must be exclusively from that person<\/strong>. The agency will cancel applications with duplicate contact information between beneficiaries and debtors, or between different applications. Using your own email address for convenience will also invalidate the process.<\/p>\n

    ICETEX also implemented Biometric verification when signing the promissory note<\/strong>. The exact conditions for the joint debtor are set out in the current regulations. Agreement No. 04 of April 30, 2025<\/a>. Confirm them there before committing someone.<\/p>\n

    What is legalization and how many days do you have to do it?<\/h2>\n

    This is the step where the approved loan is formalized with the educational institution and the guarantees are signed. If this isn't done on time, it will be canceled even if it's already been approved. And we need to be honest here, because ICETEX publishes two different deadlines:<\/p>\n
