Decent housing · Our pillar

We built the decent housing that changes the future of a family

A sturdy home isn't a luxury: it's health, safety, and opportunity. At Hepacom, building dignified housing for vulnerable families in Colombia is the reason we exist.

Why housing

Behind every wall is a life that gets better

In Colombia, thousands of families live in houses made of wooden planks, with dirt floors and roofs that can't withstand the rain. This makes children sick, robs them of sleep, and closes doors. Decent housing changes everything: it reduces illness, provides security, and restores peace of mind to families.

A real work

From a house that was falling down to a decent home

This is the kind of work we do. This family's home was dilapidated and uninhabitable; thanks to the work of volunteers and donors, the same place was transformed into a sturdy house.

Our method

How we build, step by step

We don't just give away a house and leave. Every peso donated becomes a real roof over your head, with ongoing support.

01

We identified the family

We get to know the family, visit their home, and verify their actual needs on-site.

02

We planned the work

We define what is needed —improvement or construction— and we obtain materials and equipment.

03

We build in community

We built the house together with volunteers, the family, and their community.

04

We deliver and support

We delivered the completed house and continued to support the family afterwards.

More than walls

What does decent housing mean to us?

We don't build just anything. We strive to ensure that every family has a safe, healthy, and dignified home. That's why our projects prioritize what truly changes lives.
